A melding of Classical Pilates, MELT and Myofascial Magic in Action

Melding Classical Pilates, MELT, and Myofascial Magic in Action (MMIA) creates a holistic approach to self-care and physical conditioning. Classical Pilates builds core strength, alignment, and control, while MELT addresses chronic pain and restores connective tissue health through gentle, effective techniques. MMIA enhances this synergy by promoting deep myofascial release and improved body awareness, helping to unlock tension and optimize movement patterns. Together, these methods empower you to move with ease, reduce discomfort, and cultivate resilience in both body and mind.

Faye Stevenson, Studio Owner and Instructor

I've always been drawn to movement and exploration. My curiosity led me in many directions, but I found my way to Pilates in my mid-twenties for practical reasons. Ten years later, becoming a parent forced me to confront chronic pain and unhelpful habits, prompting a deeper exploration beyond Pilates. This journey wasn’t always practical—it involved raising tough questions and pursuing costly, unconventional paths.

Staying solely focused on Pilates would have been simpler, but my experience with pain made that impossible. I had to find a way to practice without aggravating my body, which tested my perseverance and commitment to self-care. MELT provided valuable insights and gave me a fresh perspective on Pilates.

As I expand my studies into areas like Somatic Experiencing, MMIA, Applied Neurology, and Music, I’m discovering greater access to my potential as a healing artist—and a renewed passion for Pilates. Years of exploration have strengthened my ability to create fulfilling body practices that promise long-term well-being.

My personal journey deeply influences my teaching. Since 2002, sharing what I’ve learned has brought me joy and satisfaction. I’m grateful to end each day feeling energized and uplifted, doing work I truly love.

In the Words of Other Healthcare Professionals…

Faye's message about adopting a can-do mindset is so important for anyone with chronic pain; more and more, we (in healthcare) are learning how critical it is to teach our bodies and minds not to avoid movement for fear of re-injury.Iris Warchall, Doctor of Physical Therapy
Faye's passion for Pilates and applying positive energy to all of life's curve balls is as inspirational in her book as it is in her studio. This practice can help one to build what I would describe as a competent body, a body which has some resilience, strength and ease of movement and is part of its own protection against injury. It is for everyone, whether you come seeking answers to chronic pain or just increased well being.Susan Minger, MD
